About

Built Behind A Dispensary Counter

TabCount AI was built and tested in a working Ontario pharmacy, by the team that makes NarcCount.

Why we built it

Phone Counters Make You Choose

Point the phone at the tray, and you can’t read the count. Read the count, and the camera moves. In our own pharmacy, the iPad on its stand ended up used for fewer than one count in ten.

We wanted a webcam on a stand over the tray, the count on the monitor we already work at, and a photo kept with every count. For narcotics, a photo is proof. A typed number is a claim.

50 white tablets on a green counting tray, each outlined and numbered.

How we build

Four Rules We Don't Bend

  1. 01

The checked number, or no number

A preview is labelled a preview. The big number is only ever the checked one.

  2. 02

    Proof over trust

A photo of the tray is kept with every saved count, and a saved count can't be edited.

  3. 03

    Less on the screen

One plain line beside the thing it is about. Pharmacists read it mid-count.

  4. 04

    Canadian by default

Counted on our own computer in Ontario. Stored in Canada.
